You can play your part in educating your GP by sending them links to training on ME. We have prepared a sample GP letter for you to send to your surgery.

I am a patient at your surgery and am writing to make you aware of a ​new CPD accredited module available on myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) that  reflects the reality of ME as a complex multi-system disease.

The  NICE guideline on ME was updated in 2021 and some significant changes made.  Graded Exercise Therapy (GET) is now warned against and CBT should only be used as a supportive therapy. 

There are some things GPs can do that will significantly improve the quality of life of their ME patients, as this CPD accredited module and  NHS elearning on ME demonstrate..

I would be grateful if you could share this module and NHS elearning with the rest of the GPs at your surgery.
